LGBTQIA+ Voices

Gay Teens

Your voice is a reflection of who you are, and that's worth celebrating. I'm all about offering singing lessons that are inclusive and affirming for LGBTQIA+ students. My experience extends to working with:

- Students on testosterone, navigating the changes in your voice, and helping you feel confident in your own sound.

- For non-binary singers, I specialise in curating Musical Theatre repertoire and adjusting song keys to authentically match your gender identity.

- And for the fabulous drag queens and kings, I'm here to help polish those vocal performances so you can shine at every gig.

Most importantly, my aim is to create a safe and supportive environment for all students to explore and thrive in their vocal journey.

"Lauren is a joy to work with. She provides clear guidance to develop your character's voice, with a collaborative process that brings your own personality to the performance. We worked on voice characters for a children's animation, and the exploration proved incredibly valuable. I highly recommend Lauren and her methodologies."

Do you offer online as well as in-person lessons?

Yes — you can book lessons online (via Google Meet) or in person in Bristol. I work with clients from all over the world, and many choose to combine both options for extra flexibility.

2

Where are in-person lessons held?

I teach in Bristol (Filton area). The exact address is shared upon booking. I can travel for group workshops or rehearsals by arrangement.

3

Q: How long and how much are lessons?

All lessons are currently £48 for a 45-minute session. This applies to both online and in-person lessons, and each session is tailored to your individual goals and needs.

4

Can I record my coaching session?

Absolutely! In fact, I encourage it. Listening back to your lesson is a great way to review techniques, practice effectively, and revisit topics we covered. If your session is online, I can provide you with a recording afterward for your reference.

5

Which accents do you cover?

I coach a wide range of accents used in theatre, film, and public speaking — including RP, General American, regional UK accents, as well as accent softening.

6

I have a last minute audition can you help?

Yes! I regularly work with performers preparing for musical theatre, cruises, stage, and screen auditions. I can support you by playing the piano accompaniment, marking sheet music, creating cuts, improving vocal clarity, and bringing your performance to life by helping you tell the story.

7

I need someone to play the sheet music for me — do you play piano and can you sight-read?

YES. I’m trained as a classical pianist and am also a Musical Director, so I can sight-read any music on the spot. Bring your sheet music, and I’ll help you sing the notes accurately, understand how the score should sound, and even make recordings for you to practise with.

8

How do I book a 1:1 lesson?

Simply get in touch via my Contact Page with your goals, and I’ll email you back to confirm availability. Once confirmed, you’ll receive a password to the members’ area, where you can book lesson times and pay securely through my booking system. I’ll make sure you feel confident and have all the information you need for your first lesson.
